I think hope can mean different things. You can hope in a particular thing or person or outcome. None of these have been particularly helpful to me in my long years of illness. Many hopes relying on others have been dashed.
Hope that is blessed and pure is in a way undefined for it is more a hope in love, in God, in prayer, in the goodness that is, in the blessing of life itself and the kindness and being just still in the presence of beauty that fills you and restores strength and brings hope into being somehow.
Nevertheless, I feel more hopeful generally, having had a better and blessed year in many ways , the nurse of the year award, the new book, the little corgi and Greg’s birthday brought hope for the future in a general non specific way, purely on the basis that Greg loves me and God holds us !
And we can make good things happen if we persevere…
